On Friday, January 17th, 2025, Stepping Stones hosted a heartwarming evening filled with nostalgia and celebrations to mark their 50th birthday. This milestone event brought together past and present supporters and dedicated staff from across the years to share cherished memories and look forward to a vibrant future.

Stepping Stones specialises in providing specialist support for children from birth to five years of age who have been identified as having additional needs. They support children, and their families, from the Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, Melksham, and Bradford on Avon areas. Their highly regarded team collaborates closely with health professionals to encourage children to develop and learn through play, helping them reach their full potential. They ensure that every child receives equal opportunities to thrive. Their dedicated staff not only meet the children's needs but also offer substantial support to parents and caregivers, ensuring early intervention for the best possible outcomes.

Held at Stepping Stones, the evening was attended by notable guests, including Trowbridge Mayor Cllr Stephen Cooper, Westbury Mayor Cllr Jane Russ, and Warminster Mayor Cllr Stacie Allensby. Their attendance highlighted the strength of community relationships and recognition of Stepping Stones’ support for families across West Wiltshire.

Debbie Wickham, Stepping Stones Manager, welcomed all attendees, expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making Stepping Stones the valued service it is today. She also thanked them for their continued support in maintaining the strong foundations on which the Stepping Stones service has been built.

Throughout the year, there will be multiple events to help celebrate this milestone, and Stepping Stones will be encouraging as many people as possible to celebrate with them. They have created a virtual memory wall and are encouraging people who have engaged with the service over the past 50 years to share their memories.
